Perhaps they'll open up the FT-AC interior to the press, and I can't really recall any other new cars from Toyota they can show off aside from the concepts. likelihood of it being there along with the Tj is pretty high.
It was my understanding from the Toyota rep interview that the FT-AC didn't have an interior to view. The rep said they would be putting one in later. That is why I wondered if they would have one for Detroit. I posted pictures on another thread of the show car getting it's color wrap by Sticky Fingers Design and as near as I can see there was only a drivers' seat.Perhaps they'll open up the FT-AC interior to the press, and I can't really recall any other new cars from Toyota they can show off aside from the concepts. likelihood of it being there along with the Tj is pretty high.
I hope you are right about the TJ because I will be very excited. That would mean they want input from US buyers too before they decide to produce it!Perhaps they'll open up the FT-AC interior to the press, and I can't really recall any other new cars from Toyota they can show off aside from the concepts. likelihood of it being there along with the Tj is pretty high.
For a while they have been due for a new Lexus LX and I hope that's what this new concept will be although it can be said the LX is the type of product that needs little changes, sort of like the Mercedes G-Wagon if you know what I mean.Looks like Toyota will use the Detroit Auto Show to introduce a Lexus crossover concept.

I now am thinking we won't see the TJ Cruiser or FT-AC there.![]()
I hope that the new generation of Avalon won't share the same design cues with Camry like it was in its previous generation. I want Avalon to be a unique and luxurious model in Toyota's product line.Looks like Toyota will use the Detroit Auto Show to introduce a Lexus crossover concept.

Good point. It wouldn't make much sense to have the FT-AC or TJ Cruiser just sitting there without fanfare while the new intros get all the attention.Probably not is they're already debuting the Avalon at the show, makes more sense to have a production car in the spotlight compared to a concept vehicle.
I think TJ has more chances to appear at that auto show than FT-AC, just because it was fully revealed at Tokyo show and there is nothing left to present. Speaking of FT-AC, we still don't know what's inside that car, so it needs its own stage and can't be presented with another model.Good point. It wouldn't make much sense to have the FT-AC or TJ Cruiser just sitting there without fanfare while the new intros get all the attention.
I would be very excited if we were both wrong and the TJ was there because that would mean the intention to sell it here is strong.....or to test the reaction of the US market.
About two more weeks until Detroit.....Here is the press day and time for the Detroit show....

Although I doubt we will see much that interests us here.
It is also possible that we will see the CUV/SUV concepts we are interested in without being mentioned in the press conference. Of course, I would be ecstatic if one of them was announced as headed for production.:smile:A lot can happen in 25 minutes with these presentations. Also, remember this is marketing, one of many forms of marketing that happens with a new product. What we often see is the flood of information that comes from publications from press releases, images, videos, their observations, etc.
Very true, if that's the case then hopefully it means some introductry page will go live. I have tried to mess around with URL's on Toyota site to hopefully reveal this but nothing is coming up so farIt is also possible that we will see the CUV/SUV concepts we are interested in without being mentioned in the press conference.
