There will be a Toyota Press Conference at the LA Auto Show on Thursday November 30th at 7:55 am. Then a second one at 9 am.

Will be interesting to see if we get more news on the TJ Cruiser then.

Makes sense that they would show the TJ there since this is a major show. I hope so and may fly there to attend.

I assume those public interest groups wouldn't have concluded by then so we may not get a definitive answer from Toyota about the TJ Cruiser. Maybe more close look videos if they do bring the concept vehicle along.

I thought tickets would be much more expensive, but it's more than affordable. Check out this page with ticket price: https://laautoshow.com/tickets/

I might visit it for a few days too.

Right, I think it is important it be in LA to get feedback from US customers to make a go ahead decision.

Hey maybe it would be fun to meet up, if I decide to go.
Also, don't be surprised to see a tweaked, more production ready version at the LA show. Toyota did that with the Scion/ Toyota iM.
Unfortunately I live nowhere close to LA and the trip won't be worth the cost to me. If anyone does go, have at the folding seats and all the storage compartments. That's one of the TJ's main selling points. Maybe they even kept the exterior power plug.

Seems like we're gonna have our own official representatives at the upcoming LA Auto Show lol.

**** yes! If I'll be able to go there, we should meet up and maybe even do a short video for this forum together.

That would be cool! I am just having trouble finding out whether the TJ Cruiser will be there or not. If not, I wouldn't go. I might go if they have the FT-4X because I would like to see that even it doesn't make production.

Most concepts don't allow going up on the turntable to touch anything, but we could do a video asking questions of the rep. We would appreciate questions from this group before we go and we promise to ask them.

Doubt we will be able to touch anything, but I will definitely ask.

Here is a good close up video, but not in English.

What do you think of the early open tickets.......or going during the week.

Early open appeals to me a bit because we may be able to talk a rep into letting us go up to the TJ before the crowds come and demand the same access. The weekday might also be a better opportunity for hands on access.
Still not sure if I'll be able to go or not... I'll probably let you know somewhere at the end of this month...

Anyways, if I'll finally make it go there it would be nice to get early open tickets. Do you know if there will be a chance to see what cars are going to be there? Cause I don't really want to go there if they won't present TJ.

Feel the same way. I have been emailing everyone I can think of, but cannot get info on whether it will be there or not. :(
Media Days are about 2 days before the public days so if it shows up odds are we will see pictures of it online. LA is a big show, probably one of the runner up's to the Detroit show, so Toyota can find a lot of value in having the TJ here as well

Well, there is a scheduled presser on the 30 th, but I am hoping as you are that there will be some prep photos which would show it being there.
Still it would be nice to know further ahead of that so I can still get cheap air fare.
There may be at the door tickets as well, or online purchases the day of. I'll be keeping my eye on the internet to see if Toyota mentions anything new about the TJ Cruiser. Now would be a good time for them to come out with more models to move more units because of the weaker yen.

Agree. I think early entry is only available on line, if we choose that.

The weaker yen might also make it more likely to be built in Japan. I prefer that over where it's "sister" car the C-HR, is being built, Turkey.
This is the response I got from Ask Toyota regarding the LA Show....

"Dear Sean,

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

We appreciate your interest in the Toyota TJ Cruiser.

The TJ Crusier is a concept vehicle that was presented at the Tokyo Auto Show.

We are sorry, we do not have any information available if this concept vehicle will be at the L.A. Auto Show.

There is no guarantee that concepts or prototypes will make it to production. Often different design ideas from concept vehicles may be incorporated into an existing vehicle, or into a new vehicle.

We certainly appreciate your inquiry and interest. You can sign up for the latest updates with our RSS Feed and/or receive email alerts when new information is posted in the Toyota USA Newsroom.

Your email has been documented at our National Headquarters. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Roy G.
